SELFOC® Lens Arrays

Go!Foton brings to market the SELFOC® Lens Array product produced by NSG Group in Japan. The origin of its SELFOC® lens dates back to 1968 and the original objective was to develop a lens for fiber-optic gastric endoscope. In the process, the NSG researchers succeeded in producing the world’s first gradient index lens in a glass rod. From there, they developed lenses that could transmit images and light coming from one end of the glass even when both ends were flat. The product name SELFOC comes from “self-focusing.” In this lens, the index of refraction declines rapidly as light moves from the center to the periphery.

This product is widely used in image scanning, reproduction, and document capture applications. The advantage of the SLA is that it allows the images to be directly conveyed without image inversion. This self focusing feature of the SLA eliminates the need for correction mirrors and permits compact image handling solutions. The NSG SLA has been widely adopted in the imaging industry as the defacto standard lens for image management.

Selguide®

Go!Foton also provides the NSG SELGUIDE®, a light source for image scanning, developed by NSG based on its proprietary optical technology. It provides high intensity and uniform light emission with a smaller number of LED’s used to achieve low power consumption. It is the best choice available as a light source for contact images sensors. The color SELGUIDE® ensures sharp, full color reproduction through sequential switching of ultra-high intensity LED chips in three primary colors.

Go!Foton has developed devices for video-overlay applications including 3-wavelength video splitters and a compact / low-cost video receiver. These products are readily usable in conjunction with 3W-TRX™ equipped ONU modules.
