Go!Foton Acquires Zenko Technologies

Somerset and Middlesex, New Jersey – July 30, 2010

Go!Foton, the formidable provider of high-performance optical materials, components, and modules, today announced the acquisition of Zenko Technologies, Inc., a privately held innovative leader in burst-mode technologies for digital communications. The benefits of the addition of Zenko are two-fold: it brings substantial expertise to fortify Go!Foton’s technology foundation, and also provides a line of technologies of leading PON transceiver and IC products and optical video products to enhance and propel Go!Foton’s position as a key supplier to the burgeoning broadband network market.

Zenko’s product portfolio includes PON transceiver modules, ICs for burst-mode communications, and optical video modules for RFoG solutions. Zenko’s product and technology portfolio enable Go!Foton to offer customers complete access solutions.

As a result of this acquisition, Zenko Technologies will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Go!Foton. Its founder, President, and CTO, Dr. Yusuke Ota, will become CTO of Go!Foton Corporation. Dr. Ota is a celebrated Bell Labs veteran and is recognized as a founding father of burst-mode optical communications.

“Zenko’s technologies blend perfectly well with our passive optical components and Photodiode and Avalanche Photodiode fab capability, enabling us to offer our customers a complete solution coupled with both technology strength and cost advantage,” commented Dr. Simin Cai, President of Go!Foton. “We will continue our efforts to build our strength in both technology and cost structure in order to bring greater value to our customers.”

Dr. Yusuke Ota, President of Zenko, says: “Go!Foton’s sales, marketing, and high-volume production competency are key to the realization of the full potential of Zenko’s cutting-edge technologies. We are very excited to join the Go!Foton team.”
