SELFOC® Lens Family

In 1968, NSG successfully developed a lens which exhibits a parabolic refractive index distribution in the glass rod, thereby achieving self-focusing on the flat end surfaces to enable the transmission of images and light. To achieve this, a glass rod is submerged in a fused-salt bath where ion exchange occurs so that the refractive index is modulated inside and outside the glass rod to allow light to meander through the glass. Our proprietary SELFOC® lenses are key components in a variety of information processing and optical communication equipment, and make great contributions to today’s IT society.

Selmux™ Wavelength Division Multiplexers

Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) is a fundamental building block in high capacity optical communications networks. The Go!Foton line of passive WDM products is built on a thin film filter technology and our proprietary SELMUX™ packaging platform. Products include 100G and 200G Dense WDM (DWDM), Coarse WDM (CWDM), and Edge WDM (EWDM). These products are RoHS 6/6 compliant, qualified to Telcordia GR-1221 standards, and validated for outside plant operating temperatures of -40C to +70C.

Optical Taps / Couplers / Splitters

Go!Foton’s line of Optical Couplers and Splitters can be used to accurately split or combine light signals from one fiber to multiple fibers using Go!Foton’s Thin-Film Filter (TFF), Fused Biconical Taper Fiber or PLC Splitter technology.
