SELFOC Micro Lens (SMLs) are used as key elements in optical coupling assemblies and in passive optical components. They play essential role in fiber optics communication systems to achieve high transmission bandwidth. For example, NSG supplies such components and modules that are indispensable in building FTTH broadband networks.
SELFOC Collimators are ideal for any DWDM components requirement because they have one of the best coupling efficiencies in the industry. SELFOC collimators are the highest quality and achieve maximum efficiency by using SELFOC Micro Lens as an integral part of their design. Available for both short and long working distances, SELFOC Collimators are Telcordia GR-1221 compliant. Applications include optical switches, isolators, WDM modules, interleavers, circulators and couplers.
SELFOC Lens Array (SLA), one of Go!Foton’s key products, consists of multiple SELFOC lenses arranged in an array in an optical system and makes erect, 1:1 images. SLA allows the optical systems to be designed compactly and manufactured at low cost. Since it first contributed to introducing innovative new copiers, it is now being used in a wide variety of applications, such as fax machines, LED printers, digital copiers, scanners and composite machines. It operates as key components, in combination with our proprietary optical semiconductors, in optical information- processing units by which greater speed, higher resolution and better colorization are required.
The SELFOC® Imaging lens is commonly used as an objective lens for small diameter imaging systems where conventional lenses are not suitable due to size limitation. The lens is designed to gather light from an object and form an inverted image at the back surface of the lens. Typical applications include fiberscope (attached to a coherent fiber bundle) and rigid endoscope (attached to a relay lens such as a SELFOC® Rod Lens, see next section).
The SELFOC Rod Lens is designed as a relay lens for small diameter rigid endoscopes. It is usually used in conjunction with a SELFOC® Imaging Lens (objective lens) to form a complete system. Cover glass and stainless steel tube are available as options.
The SELFOC Plano-Convex Lens features a curved surface on one end facet, designed to reduce spherical aberration in the lens. The result is an increased acceptance angle, smaller spot size as shown in the drawing above. The most common application is coupling from a light source, such as a laser diode or LED, into an optical fiber.
SELFOC Collimating Lenses are designed to be compatible with CD lasers and other types of packages. They are commonly used in laser beam printers, bar code scanners and sensors. The cylindrical shape of the lens allows it to be easily aligned and mounted. The Pick-Up Lens (SPL) is mounted in an anodized aluminum holder.
